Laval en transition, Coalition Climat LAVAL and Conseil régional de l’environnement de Laval are happy to invite the population to the third of a series of free, virtual conferences that are all about... ecodistricts! During this conference, virtually meet two « new green economy » enthusiasts that willl introduce you to the new economic models that must support ecodistricts.
Conferences included in this project will be offered until May 2021 and many different themes related to ecodistricts will be explored. The main goal is to provide citizens with tools so that they are able to suggest recommendations and contribute to the land use planning of new ecodistricts in their area.
Reconciling economy and environment... is it wishful thinking?
An ecodistrict must support its territory's economy in order to maintain an efficient evolution dynamic and ensure its continuity. However, it is essential to define new types of economical activities that respect the environment so that we can replace obsolete models.
- In this context, what are the types of enterprises that an ecodistrict should promote on its territory?
- How can we make sure that resources and biodiversity are protected, while answering the needs of consumers?
Following the presentations, a question and answer period will allow participants to discuss with our panelists regarding the social, environmental and economical benefits of creating several ecodistricts in Laval!
A official partnership!
We are happy to announce that the Pôle régional d'économie sociale de Laval (PRESL) is our official implementing partner for this event!
Did you miss the two previous conferences?
The first conference examined general concepts of ecodistricts, so that participants are better prepared for the more specific themes in the conferences to come. The second one looked at the relationships between environmental quality and health. You may watch them again on CRE de Laval's YouTube channel, here and here (in French).
